Literary Club

Writers' Club at Darjeeling Government College was founded on March 16, 2022. The mission of Writers’ Club is to provide opportunities for students to explore their creative faculties as well as to enhance their talents and skills by reinforcing and introducing them to the aesthetic values. This club's establishment is based on the interests of the student body, with the main goal of nurturing the hidden potential and talents of students in the field of arts and enriching their young minds. Through such a club, it is aspired to create a vibrant community where members can explore, learn, and grow as writers, fostering an environment of artistic expression and innovation. It is worth mentioning that the club supports all forms of art and is an open platform for students to express themselves freely.

Functions and Fundamentals of The Club

Enhance creativity and to provide a platform for their exposure
All genres of writing like- poems, stories, journals, reports, research, book reviews, song writing, quotes etc are accepted
All forms of art like- singing, dancing, acting, photography, playing musical instruments, painting, sketches, emceeing, etc are welcome
All languages are accepted
Promotion, update of the tasks and events of the club will be published on our official instagram account as well official notices
Articles will be collected on a weekly basis and the best one will be featured on the Notice Board
All the writings can be submitted either through online or offline mode
An email address will be provided for online submission of articles and a box to be put within the college vicinity for offline submission of articles
An open-mic programme to be organised every month where one can showcase their talents
Certificate of participation will be provided
One to be the best amongst all will be awarded a title of "STAR OF THE MONTH" with trophy, certificate and exciting gifts
"Star of the Month" will be featured on the notice board of our college notice board

Mission and Vision

Writers’ Club, 'An open platform supporting forms of art' contributes to the intellectual and creative activities of the

students, providing support for all undergraduate and graduate students,via various activities. By doing so, the Writers Club advances the mission to create an inclusive creative environment that fosters students' abilities to achieve their academic, professional, and personal goals.

The Writers Club supports all forms of art. The Club is an open platform for all.
